Top Ten Halloween Movies

Halloween (1978, the first of the 11 movie series,the new one is coming out soon and is furthering the story plot) - This movie is for thrill-seeking movie goers! The main character, Michael Myers, went on a rampage one night and killed his sister. Now, back from the mental institution, he is back again and thirsting for blood.


The Shining (1980) - Based on the original best selling book by Stephen King, The Shining is two hours and forty minutes of pure horror. When main character Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) becomes the winter caretaker at the isolated Overlook Hotel in Colorado. All in an attempt to help cure his writer's block, he notices an evil spiritual influence lurking within the halls. This mystery / physiological horror movie will have you hiding under the blanket long after the movie ends!


The Exorcist (1973)- Based loosely on true events, this movie is about a young girl named Regan who begins to act distant and unusually odd. Her mother notices and seeks medical help, only to discover a dead end. So, she asks help from the Church. This leads to the find that a demon has possessed her daughter. This horror movie has become one of the most profitable movies created, and is a must-see for all thirteen and older.


Halloweentown (1998)- After finding out she is a witch, Marnie is sent to Halloweentown. The town has ghosts, ghouls, witches and werewolves! Upon her arrival, she finds herself battling wicked warlocks and evil spirits in order to save her friends.


The Conjuring (2013)- This horror/thriller film is about a family living at a farmhouse that is haunted by a dark presence. To dispel the presence they ask paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren for help and support. Throughout the movie, the family experiences terrifying events and life threatening situations.


Warm Bodies (2013) - This romantic adventure movie is about Julie (Teresa Palmer) and a zombie (Nicholas Hoult). Julie is a zombie hunter and on one of her quests, she gets captured by R (the zombie). Through this movie, R and Julie spend time surviving the elements and end up falling for each other. Great Halloween chick flick.


It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)- In this cartoon comic movie, Charlie Brown and his ecstatic friends celebrate the Halloween spirit. While celebrating, one of Charlie Brown's friends, Linus, waits for the Great Pumpkin at the pumpkin patch.


A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)- This chilling film focuses on several teenagers who have an encounter with a killer named Freddy Krueger. Krueger is a disfigured midnight murderer who preys on teenagers while they dream and ends up killing them in reality.


Friday the 13th (1980)- In this chilling thriller, a group of camp counselors are stalked by an unknown villain while trying to reopen their summer camp which, years before, was the resting place for a child that drown.
