Yelich Vs. Baez For MVP

Christian Yelich has yet again had another phenomenal performance at the plate on September 17, of 2018. Yelich hit for the cycle for the second time in the 2018 season against the Cincinnati Reds. He is the third person to ever hit two cycles in one season in the national league. However, Yelich is the first person to do it against the same team! Not only has Yelich hit two cycles this season, the 26-year-old also has 31 home runs on the season. Yelich's stats are off of the charts; he has 93 RBIs, his OPS is 0.925, OBP 0.384, SLG 0.568. Yelich is in the top three for the National League in most of these categories. Ever since the All-Star break, Yelich has been on a tear.

Javier Baez, a 2016 World Series Champion, continues to give Chicago hope of another MVP award. Baez’ fast moving skills put him above other second basemen. His ability to tag potential base stealers is unapproachable. He continues to be one of the most memorable defensive players. He shines in defense, but his offense does not disappoint. Baez is ranked first in extra base hits as of September 19th, 2018. Baez sits at 33 home runs on the season. His stats continue to stay neck and neck with Christian Yelich, OBP of 0.329, OPS 0.897, and 0.569. As of Tuesday the 18th, he stands with 105 RBIs.
